Pussycat Dolls Tape Ad for Bally ALS Promotion

July 29, 2008

Pop music group the Pussycat Dolls last week taped an ad for Bally Total Fitness promoting a fundraising event benefitting MDA’s ALS Division, and Nancy O’Dell covered the event for Access Hollywood (view an article and video about the taping).

The Bally campaign for MDA’s Augie’s Quest ALS research initiative begins Aug. 1 at its nationwide network of clubs.

While the Access Hollywood’s coverage focuses on Britney Spears’ involvement with a Dolls video, the Web article highlights ALS and links readers to MDA’s ALS site to learn more about the cause.

O’Dell, whose mother, Betty Humphries, recently lost her battle with ALS, has partnered with MDA’s ALS Division to raise awareness and funds to find a cure for the disease. She will serve as a co-host for the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon airing Aug. 31 and Sept. 1.

The Bally promotion includes a variety of ways for members to raise money for ALS research, such as attending special exercise classes on Aug. 28, or collecting donations through a special Web site. Non-members can come into any Bally Total Fitness club on Aug. 28 and workout for a $1 donation to Augie’s Quest/MDA.
